Defend Yourself With a Pocket Alarm

Hand held personal alarms are an effective device to carry. Like most security alarms, personal alarms emit a very loud and high-pitched sound that is designed to scare an attacker or thief. When activated a personal alarm will emit a sound ranging in decibels from 100 to 130. To understand how loud that range actually is consider this: an alarm clock is approximately 80 decibels while a jackhammer falls into the 120 decibel range and an air raid siren hits 140 decibels. Any noise louder than 90 decibels can have damaging results on the ear. It is the amount of noise and the length of the noise that do the damage. Personal alarms that activate when a pin is pulled will make a noise until the pin is actually replaced in the device. This feature helps to ward off potential attackers and even dogs.
